If you run a business in Monterrey, your WhatsApp probably never stops: customers asking about prices, hours, whether there's room on Saturday or how to get there. Answering everything on time is hard when you also have to run the counter, cook, cut hair or close a sale.
That's why more and more owners are asking whether an AI assistant on their WhatsApp is worth it. The honest answer is that it depends. Here's when it is, when it isn't yet and what it costs.
What an AI assistant on WhatsApp is
It's an assistant that answers your customers' messages instantly, using only the business information you approve. It doesn't make up prices or invent promotions: it works with what you give it.
In practice it can:
- Answer questions about prices, hours, location and services.
- Book appointments or reservations without you having to keep an eye on it.
- Hand the chat to a person on your team when needed, for example a complaint or a special request.
Your customers keep texting the same number as always. The difference is they no longer wait hours for a reply.
When it's worth it
An assistant makes the most sense if one or more of these sounds familiar:
- You get the same questions all day long.
- Messages come in after hours or on weekends.
- You feel you lose sales by answering late, because the customer went with whoever replied first.
- You book appointments or reservations: clinics, salons, repair shops, restaurants.
- Your team is small and nobody can stay glued to the phone.

When it's not worth it yet
There are also cases where we wouldn't recommend it, at least for now:
- You get very few messages a week. If you can easily answer everything yourself, WhatsApp Business quick replies are probably enough.
- Every sale needs a custom quote or a long negotiation. There, the value is in your expertise and in talking directly with the customer.
We'd rather tell you straight than sell you something you won't use.
- Do you answer the same questions several times a day?
- Do customers text you at night or on weekends?
- Have you ever lost a sale by replying late?
- Do you book appointments or reservations through WhatsApp?
- Is your team so small that nobody can watch the phone all the time?
What you need to get started
- A WhatsApp Business number.
- Your FAQ, prices and rules: cancellation policies, delivery areas, payment methods or whatever applies to your line of business.
- About 20 minutes for an interview with us.
You don't need to know anything about technology. If you already have your prices in a list, a photo of your menu or a document, that's a great starting point.
How it works with Panorama Smart Lab
- Interview. We talk about your business, your customers and what they ask you most.
- Knowledge base. With that information we build everything the assistant can answer, and you approve it.
- Connection. We connect the assistant to your WhatsApp Business number.
- One week of testing. We review the answers together and fine tune whatever is needed before it works on its own.
- Monthly report. Every month we send you a report so you can see how it's going.
What it costs
The WhatsApp Assistant costs MXN $10,000 for setup plus MXN $1,900 per month, plus VAT. The monthly fee includes up to 1,000 conversations.
If you also need a website, the Smart Business package (Negocio Inteligente) includes a website plus the assistant for MXN $15,750 for setup plus MXN $2,950 per month, plus VAT. It's the option for owners who want to be found online and want someone to answer the moment a customer writes.
An honest note
The assistant only answers with information you approve, and it should be supervised, especially during the first few weeks. It's a big help with repetitive work, but it doesn't replace the human touch in complex cases: a delicate complaint, an upset customer or a sale that needs your judgment. That's what the option to hand the chat to a person is for.
One important detail: every time you change a price, your hours or a promotion, its information needs to be updated. That way it never tells a customer something that's no longer true.
Tell us how you work and we'll tell you honestly whether the assistant will help you or whether it's not the right time yet.
